The Rockport Yacht Club has a new to us Sailboat, it's a Harbor 20' March-20-2019

This is a beautiful 20' day sailor with room for 6.She is coming to the RYC via club members Jim and Heidi Marmion. Yes they are donating this fine sailboat to our Yacht Club. Big hand and Thank You to Jim & Heidi....!  The idea of such a boat is to give the RYC a method for which to teach adults as well as kids the wonderful sport of sailing. We have chosen this boat for it's ease of sailing as well as it's beautiful lines. The boat was found in Houston, she is a 2011 model in excellent condition.  Even though she is in excellent condition there are a few things we need to do as a club to get her ready to sail.....So we are scheduling a couple work days over the next couple weekends.....
      Saturday March 23rd 9:00 to 12:00
      Saturday March 30th 9:00 to ......
What needs to be done:
1) compound the hull and replace the stripes and boat name.
2) sand the bottom prep for bottom paint (she has a few blisters we will repair)
3) Bottom Paint
4) go over running and standing rigging, replace as needed.
New sails and spinnaker gear are on order for her, we can clean up the old sails for use as well (a good scrubbing).Once she is complete we will keep her in the water at the club. The bridge & board will sorted a plan for how members will be able to sail her responsibly.  We will bring her to the RYC via trailer for the work days. If you have expertise and tools in the areas for which she needs work, (or just want to help and learn) come pitch in to bring this fine Sailboat home to the RYC.  Again.....a Big Hand and Thank You to Jim & Heidi...!

Oysterfest 2011

Supporting and participating in other local organizations’ events is just part of being a good neighbor.  The Oysterfest parade is the grand opening of Oysterfest benefiting the Fulton VFD.  Throwing out beads and candy to the spectators is fun for everyone riding the “floats”.

4th of July Boat Parade

There is a fun event taking place in Rockport/Fulton during the 4th of July weekend. We know you might be busy enjoying the many activities of this weekend. One of the most fun is the Annual Boat Parade providing an opportunity for kids and adults to see the many regional boats dressed for the parade. It will happen on the beautiful Little Bay. We encourage boaters to invite friends and neighbors to ride on your boat during the parade. We also suggest that you bring blankets and chairs to better enjoy this fun event from shore! Come join us on a boat, on the shore line and at the Yacht Club on Rockport Harbor and enjoy remembering why we celebrate this famous holiday. Click here for Poster We had a spectacular parade! Lots of kiddos and everyone had a great time.

Christmas Lighted Boat Parade

Christmas in Rockport/Fulton. Time to stroll down our avenues and admire the decorations. Time to attend parties and exchange presents. But most of all, because we live in a boating community, it’s time to participate to the annual boat parade. Whether you like boats, Christmas lights or both, this Rockport Yacht Club tradition brings the community together every year — and it’s a must see for both residents and visitors. Both commercial and personal watercrafts will participate and, for the first time, a new category of restaurant-sponsored boats will float across the bay for your viewing pleasure. The theme is “Deck the Hulls with Holiday Lights.” Boat owners have shown incredible originality and ingenuity in past years, dressing up their boats as Christmas trees and Santa’s sleds among the others, and this year promises to be no different. The boats will parade through Little Bay — a great spot to watch them go by and take some pictures and video — then back to the the Yacht Club and down town Rockport and Fulton for more fun. The parade judges will review the entrants and choose the winners. The annual event raises money for the Education Foundation providing money for student/teacher projects. If you get tired of watching the boats go by, or if the winter night proves to be a little too chilly, Join us in the Rockport Yacht Club for food and refreshment and holiday lights and certainly enjoy the featured merchants open houses all evening.

Tour of Homes 2011

Rockport is home to many beautiful and unique residences, including yachts.  Touring these fine homes and boats is a highlight of the spring season. The Yacht Club was host to a beautiful tournament sportfisherman on the tour and provided luncheon for the folks who toured these beautiful homes. What better way to see the homes and life styles of Rockport.
